The second part of this session will look at how this data can then be used – looking to the future, at the concept of ‘Big Data’, ‘Digital Built Britain’ (BIM Level 3) and the concept of Smart Cities.

ViewPoint Construction Software

Richard Scott, Director of Market Development
  • A brief history of ViewPoint (formerly Priority1), including a live demonstration of how using Fieldview on a tablet saves time, improves accuracy and allows you to find everything afterwards!
  • How BIM data collection can be achieved on site using the same tablet and fed back into the model and utilised within Cobie spreadsheets.
Richard Scott was the founder of Mobile Computing Systems Ltd (MCS) a company that has been collaborating with UK Construction sector since 2001.
Over the last 14 years its mobile computing enabled project control system previously known as “Priority1” has been used on thousands of building and infrastructure projects across the UK.  In Dec 14 (MCS) was acquired by the US based firm Viewpoint Construction Software and its product, renamed “Field View”, has become a cornerstone in a suite of software tools that will touch all aspects of construction and reach a global community.
